Taylor Hicks - You Are So Beautiful To Me

Interesting poll we have going on in the sidebar! Thanks to all who have voted! I see one of my top 3 favorite Taylor songs is in the lead to be the next cover on the new album - "You Are So Beautiful" by Billy Preston. Just a gorgeous song, made even more beautiful by Taylor and his harp. I just LOVE it to pieces! I think he could have a hit with the song again, eh? They have many other Taylor videos over on the rehearsals.com website, including Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On", Stevie Wonder's "Living For The City", Taylor's cover of Weird Al's version of "Do I Creep You Out" (so funny!), Ray Charles' "Georgia", more songs and a lengthy interview! Do check it out!

I too love YASB. When Taylor sang that song on AI it gave me goosebumps. I still watch that performance over and over on my DVR. I also listen to the MP3 of his version of the song on my IPOD. I think singing that song right after Katherine sang Over the Rainbow leveled the playing field big time and took him over the top. Even Simon said it was his best performance.

However, I had to vote for In The Ghetto. Taylor took that song and definitely made it his own. He put a modern, up-to-date sound to it - and I think Taylor's version of this Elvis Presley classic would go over big time.

Okay..the one performance that made me know for sure that he had a chance to win the whole shebang was "Something".

There was "something in the way he woooooooed us" on that song! He sang it perfectly and took a big chance covering a Beatles song. But he nailed that baby! He went from PTFMWB to Something all in the same night I believe. Genius!

YASB is next in my book.
